Ark technology is a distributed multi-level localized disaster recovery technology in the Aqara smart home system. Currently, Ark technology has been updated to version 2.0. It includes hub local automation capability, multi-hub standby replacement, proxy hub disaster recovery, etc., when cloud servers, Internet, router, hub running fault, It can provide disaster recovery protection against these issues at multiple levels, try it best to ensure local automation and scenario execution, and enhance the reliability and stability of the Aqara smart home system.
When Aqara hub products (Like Hub M3, Hub M2, Air Conditioning P3, Camera Hub G3 ) running fault or powered off, some Zigbee devices which been connected to them can act as a “proxy hub”, and the “proxy hub” is responsible for the execution of some basic local automation and scenarios.

1. You need update the firmware of the device (including hub, proxy hub, other Zigbee Router) to the latest version.

2. Proxy hub disaster recovery technology can only support some simple automation conditions and actions (such as turn on/off the device).

1.The hub needs to be plugged into a power outlet.

2.To ensure a stable connection with accessories, it is recommended to install the hub in a central location.
3.Avoid metal obstacles and load-bearing walls between the hub and its accessories, and between the hub and the router.

No, make sure your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi and then connect to the hub via the app.

When the hub alarms, this operation can remove the alarm; when the hub plays ringtone, this operation can stop playing; besides, this operation can turn on/off the night light.

1.Zigbee accessories can only connect to the Aqara Home app via a hub. Select the hub to pair with while connected to the Aqara Home app.
2.If you want to connect a Zigbee accessory to a different hub, please delete it from the homepage in the Aqara Home app first. Then add it again and select the hub you want to pair it with.
You can view the list of accessories paired with the hub in the plug-in of the hub.

1.This hub supports up to 32 Zigbee end devices.
2.If you want to add more Zigbee end devices, you can add a Zigbee router to the hub first, and then add further Zigbee end devices. The Zigbee router has extending functionality. After expansion, the hub can support up to 128 Zigbee accessories.
3. Among the Zigbee products of the Aqara and Mijia brands, the product powered by the neutral and live wires is a router, and the product powered by the live wire or by the battery is an end device. Each router can extend to support 16 end devices.

After successfully connecting a Zigbee accessory, try to trigger the accessory before installing it, to see if the accessory’s status is updated in the app. Otherwise, refer to the method on how to verify the connection between the accessory and the hub (press reset button for most accessories). The hub will beep twice to indicate that the accessory is within effective range.

1.It may be placed too far from the hub or there may be metal obstacles in between, try moving it closer to the hub.

2.The battery may be depleted, and needs to be replaced.
Note: In order to achieve an optimal experience, please update the hub’s firmware in time to ensure compatibility and a stable communication between devices.

You can view the device logs to identify different devices. When adding devices, it is recommended to categorize devices based on their installation location or intended use and rename them via the app.

After adding the hub to the Apple Home app, you also need to set up a HomePod, Apple TV (tvOS 11.0 or above), or iPad (iOS 12.0 or above) in order to control the hub remotely. Please refer to Apple Home app notifications for specific operations.

When the hub is added to the Apple Home app, only accessories that support HomeKit are displayed in the Apple Home app. Devices without “Works with Apple HomeKit” authorization cannot access HomeKit.

Click “Automation” on the homepage of the app, then click “+” in the upper right corner of the page, then add the trigger device and conditions in “IF”, and then add the execution device and the execution result in “THEN”. A scene is a collection of multiple automations and can also be used as the execution result of the automation.

For example, you need to set the motion sensor to trigger the light to turn on when it detects someone: click the “+” in the upper right corner of the automation page, select the motion sensor in “IF”> someone moves, and select the light in “THEN” > turn on. And then, you complete the automation settings.

1. According to the characteristics of automations, the execution methods are divided into the cloud method and the local method. It can be viewed in Automation> More settings (three dots in the upper right corner)> Execution method.

2. The automation of cloud execution needs to rely on the network to upload the signal sensed by the trigger device to the cloud, and the cloud then sends the corresponding control command to the execution device. Therefore, once the hub is disconnected from the network, automation cannot be executed.
3. In the automation of local execution, the trigger device will send the sensed signal to the hub, and the hub will send the corresponding control command to the execution device through Zigbee or LAN. So even if the router cannot connect to the external network, as long as the communication connection between the hub and the execution device is normal, automation can still be executed.

Both are smart wall switches, the main functions are the same, but the former is the need to connect the neutral wire and the live wire, the latter only need to be connected to the live wire, you need to choose according to the wiring of your home.

The wall switch is connected to wires. Its most important function is to be able to remotely and intelligently control the power supply and power-off of the connected circuit. If the ordinary light is converted into a smart light, the wall switch is required;

The wireless switch is a remote controller that can control devices such as wall switches through the APP settings, but cannot directly control the ordinary lights separately.

The Smart Wall Switch H1 Pro (With Neutral) supports to upgrade the switch panel to the scene panel with the corresponding number of the switches, for example, the panel of the Smart Wall Switch H1 Pro (With Neutral, Double Rocker) can be upgraded and replaced with the panel of the Scene Panel S1 (Double Switch).

The wall switch will not work normally and the indicator red light is always on. After the switch panel or the power module is matched correctly , it recovers to work normally.

If you want to get satisfied gang-installation effect, you need to separately purchase a Aqara gang frame for installation. Smart Wall Switch H1 can be installed in gang with Aqara Scene Panel S1 and Smart Thermostat T1 to obtain a richer and more convenient smart control experience.

Smart Wall Switch H1 (With Neutral, Triple rocker) as example:

There are 5 wiring holes on the back, which are N, L, L3, L2, and L1.
The L hole is connected to the live wire, the N hole is connected to the neutral wire, and the L1&L2&L3 holes are respectively connected to the load lines of the Three lights; L1 is assigned to the left button of the switch panel,L2 is assigned to the middle button of the switch panel, and L3 is assigned to the right button of the switch panel.

Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral, Triple rocker) as example:
There are 4 wiring holes on the back, which are L, L3, L2, and L1.
The L hole is connected to the live wire, and the L1&L2&L3 holes are respectively connected to the load lines of the Three lights; L1 is assigned to the left button of the switch panel,L2 is assigned to the middle button of the switch panel, and L3 is assigned to the right button of the switch panel.

Smart Wall Switch H1 (With Neutral, Triple Rocker) as example:

Connect the live wire and the neutral wire into the L hole and the N hole respectively, and connect the load lines of the lights into the L1, L2 or L3 hole. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry up the slot on the switch panel, open the panel, fix the wall switch into the installation box in the wall or on the gang frame (The gang frame needs to be purchased separately) with the enclosed screws, and cover the switch panel.

Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral, Triple Rocker) as example:
Connect the live wire into the L hole, and connect the load lines of the lights into the L1, L2 or L3 hole. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry up the slot on the switch panel, open the panel, fix the wall switch into the installation box in the wall or on the gang frame (The gang frame needs to be purchased separately) with the enclosed screws, and cover the switch panel.

It doesn’t suppot smart lights, dimmable lights, color-changing lights, remote control lights, tape LED lights and over load device, like bath heater.

The live wire is normally red, the neutral wire is usually black or blue and the load wire is usually green or yellow. We suggest you install the switch after a professional electrician has tested the wires using instruments such as voltmeter.

Smart Wall Switch H1 (With Neutral):

If the load line and the neutral line are swapped, the power-on indicator may work normally, but when the relay is turned on, the switch will burn out. For other wrong installations, the wall switch may not work. Please strictly follow the instructions for wiring, or ask a professional to install it!

Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral):
If the load line of the light is mistakenly connected to the L hole or the live wire is mistakenly connected to L1 or L2, it will not short out, but it may cause the switch to become unresponsive. It can be used after it is correctly connected. Please strictly follow the instructions for wiring, or ask a professional to install it!

The Smart Wall Switch T1 must be connected to the compatible hub to achieve functions such as coordinated and remote control. After the switch wiring is completed, please open the APP client port, enter the compatible hub, click Add Sub Device, select the corresponding wall switch in the options, and follow the prompts: long press the switch button for more than 8 seconds until the red light is always on for 1 second and the blue light is always on for 1 second, and then the blue light flashes fast. When they are connected successfully, the phone will prompt “connected successfully”.

The effective distance between the two devices is 7 to 10 meters with a wall seperating them. If more walls are between the two devices, we recommend shortening the distance.

The Smart Wall Switch H1 (With Neutral, Single/Double/Triple Rocker)

Because the switch is connected to the neutral line and the live line, there is no minimum load requirement. However, the maximum load of the total channels cannot exceed 2200W.

The Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral, Single/Double/Triple Rocker)
Under normal circumstances, each channel can load a minimum of 3W energy-saving light or 5W LED light or 16W fluorescent light. However, for some niche brands or poor-quality lights, even if the power is greater than the above requirements due to the internal circuit design, it may cause abnormalities, such as light flashes and switch freezes. Please choose carefully.

Warm reminder: If it is an old-style light with a starter, please replace it with the electronic starter.

When the power of the light, connected to the Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral), is lower than the minimum power requirement, it will randomly flash when the switch turns off. In addition, the Smart Wall Switch H1 (No Neutral) has better support for mainstream brands of lights, but for niche brands or knockoff factories, due to the internal circuit design and material problems, it may cause abnormalities such as the light flashes and the switch freezes. Please choose carefully.

First, by using the Smart Wall Switch H1 in combination with a wireless switch, it is very easy to achieve dual-control / multi-control. The wireless switch can be placed at most positions of your home to coordinately control the Smart Wall Switch H1;

Second, if the original switches are dual-control ones, only replace one of them with the Smart Wall Switch H1, keep the other ordinary switch short circuit, and replace it with a wireless switch. Otherwise, when the other end powers off, the ZigBee communication module of the Smart Wall Switch H1 cannot power on, so it cannot be controlled automatically.

1. The equivalent capacity of a standard single battery out of the doorbell factory is about 2900 mAh. When you replace it with a new battery, please choose the battery with a capacity not less than 2900 mAh.

2. If connected with HomeKit, the doorbell will record video if it is triggered and there’s motion detected until the motion ends, which may consume more power and shorten the battery life compared to using the doorbell in Aqara Home only.
3. If the loitering detection interval is configured too short, the doorbell may be frequently triggered, which may shorten the battery life.
4. Battery life can be shortened by using new and old batteries together, using other non-LR6 batteries or non-1.5V batteries.
5. If the doorbell is far away from the repeater (more than Max. 5 meters), or there is too much wireless interference in the surroundings, the doorbell will need to increase the transmission power for communication, which will result in the higher power consumption and shorten the battery life.
6. In the Power Saving Mode, the PIR detection function is turned off, and the doorbell can only be triggered by pressing the bell, remotely viewing video in the app, etc., which will greatly extend the doorbell life.

1. There might be factors in the surroundings of the doorbell causing the false-triggering of PIR (e.g. thermal disturbances due to big gaps of temperature within the detection range, such as hot air blowing continuously). In this case, please lower the sensitivity or temporarily switch to the Power Saving Mode (PIR function will be turned off.).

2. If the loitering detection interval is too long, the person detected may have left out of the monitoring field when the video recording starts. In this case, please shorten the detection interval.

1. The doorbell can use AA batteries or rechargeable lithium batteries with 1.5V discharge voltage. If NiMH batteries with 1.2V output voltage are used, the electricity statistics will be inaccurate. LR6 alkaline AA batteries are recommended.
2. It is recommended to replace 6 new batteries of the same model at a time. If new and old batteries or different batteries are mixed to use, the battery life will be shortened.

1. Check whether the Power Saving Mode is enabled. If enabled, the video recording can only be triggered by pressing the doorbell or remotely viewing video in the app. PIR can work if switched to the normal mode.

2. Check whether the video recording of loitering detection is turned on.
3. Check whether the loitering detection interval is too long.

If you connect to DC power supply, both terminals can be connected to positive or negative poles.

Please check whether the distance between the doorbell and the repeater is out of the allowable range, or other Wi-Fi co-frequency interference sources are surrounded, if yes, you can improve the connection by adjusting the position of the repeater or modifying the Wi-Fi channel.

Please ensure that the indicator light switch is turned off. If the doorbell is connected to HomeKit, please turn off the indicator light switch in Apple “Home” app to ensure the synchronization.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi protocol can be applied between the doorbell and the repeater, and between repeater and the router. The doorbell cannot bind with other child devices directly. To work with other Aqara child devices, an Aqara hub is required.

The Video Doorbell G4 is recommended to be installed on a porch or in other shaded areas.

The screws on the back plate are designed to be immovable to avoid the screws falling off and missing during disassembly of the doorbell. Do not pull out the screw forcibly.

Only MP3 not larger than 5 Mb can be uploaded, and each device only supports a maximum of five customized ringtones.

Although the doorbell does not have the hub function, the localization of some doorbell functions can still be realized, such as playing a customized ringtone on the repeater after pressing the doorbell.

1. The face recognition function is turned off by default. You can open the device settings page – More Settings – Detection – Face Recognition, turn the function on and set the relevant parameters.

2. The sensitivity of face recognition is medium by default. If it cannot detect any face even if the function is enabled, please adjust to the high sensitivity.
3. Please check whether the light surrounding the doorbell is good. Face recognition ratio can be lowered under backlight, dim light. In addition, it can be affected by infrared night vision, starting image distortion calibration.

The face recognition has two functions of face capture and face matching, both of which are performed locally on the device. However, to display and mark the face, it needs to connect to the cloud server. When the doorbell is disconnected from the router, it will not affect the face capture and matching, nor affect the local execution of automations related to face recognition. However, the newly captured face image after the doorbell disconnected from the router cannot be displayed on the app.

It is the ambient temperature of the doorbell detected by the high and low temperature alarm. It will alarm before the battery fails due to the impact caused by ambient temperature.

The doorbell relies on the Wi-Fi transmitted by the repeater for connection, and has one-to-one binding configuration with the repeater before leaving the factory. User cannot unbind the doorbell and the repeater.

PIR detection sensitivity is divided into high and low levels. When moving horizontally (90° to the PIR detection direction), PIR can detect about 4 meters with high sensitivity, and about 2 meters with low sensitivity. When moving vertically (parallel to the PIR detection direction), the detection distance will be shortened. PIR horizontal detection angle is 120°, and vertical detection angle is 80°
